THE YEAR OF ENGAGEMENT

ABOUT THE GALA

G. ERIC KNOWLES
PRESIDENT & CEO, MIAMI-DADE
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
As we proudly celebrate the 20th Annual Holiday Gala, I am reminded of the journey that has brought us here — a journey marked by resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our community. This year's theme, The Year of Engagement, is both a reflection and a call: a reflection on the powerful connections we’ve cultivated, and a call to deepen our collective efforts in building an inclusive, thriving Miami-Dade.
We are honored to have Dr. Willie Logan serve as our 2025 Honorary Chairman. Dr. Logan's leadership and lifelong service exemplify the spirit of engagement we seek to honor. His impact spans decades and communities, and we are grateful for his continued partnership with the Chamber.
From Homestead to Miami Gardens, the strength of our Chamber lies in the incredible businesses, leaders, and organizations who believe in the power of collaboration. Your support fuels the economic vitality of our region and ensures that opportunity is accessible to all. Thanks to you, we are not just witnessing growth; we are shaping it.
This year, we have seen our members rise to new heights. We’ve watched small businesses expand, entrepreneurs take bold steps, and local agencies open doors that lead to lasting impact. And while we’ve faced our share of challenges, we’ve stood together, firm in our vision and united in our purpose.
As we gather for this special milestone celebration, let it serve as a reminder of what we can achieve when we engage with intention, act with purpose, and lead with heart.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, our dedicated team, and the entire Chamber family, I thank you for being part of this journey. Your partnership makes our work possible, and your presence at this year’s Gala will help us chart an even brighter future.
We look forward to celebrating with you on Saturday, December 13th, as we honor a legacy of service and step boldly into a new era of connection and possibility.

Broadway Cuthbert Harewood
Founder of Broadway Art District
As captain of the wrestling team at Miami Jackson Senior High, Cuthbert Harewood, Jr. defeated all challenges. Each victory represented a lesson on how to strategically compete and win from an early age; he realized those same lessons could be applied to tackle real-life challenges. Since then, Hardwood’s display of winning has been a model of consistency. To stand out more, he legally added ‘Broadway’ to his moniker. Harewood has successfully branded ‘Broadway’ in the Miami community and decided to fight hard to change standards in the Liberty City neighborhood and enhance its image. The corridor and surrounding areas of NW 18th Avenue, from NW 62nd Street to NW 71st Street, are officially designated as “Broadway Avenue” by the Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners. As a result, the crime rate has steadily decreased, despite the increase in unemployment.
